Client Agreement & Informed Consent
Client Agreement & Informed Consent
Welcome
Beginning counselling or hypnosis is a personal step, and it’s important that you feel informed and comfortable with the process.
This agreement outlines how I work, what you can expect from sessions, and the shared understanding that helps create a safe and respectful environment for our work together.
Nature of the Services
My work is counselling-led and focused on supporting emotional wellbeing, self-understanding, and personal change.
Sessions may include counselling, focused hypnosis, somatic mindfulness, breathwork, nervous system education, or other reflective practices. These approaches are designed to support awareness, insight, and positive behavioural change.
Participation in any practice is always voluntary, and you are welcome to decline any technique that does not feel comfortable for you.
Hypnosis
Hypnosis is a natural state of focused attention and relaxation. During hypnosis you remain aware and in control, and you cannot be made to do anything against your will.
Focused hypnosis is used to support positive changes in habits, beliefs, and emotional patterns by working with the subconscious mind in a calm and receptive state.
Scope of Practice
I am a qualified counsellor and certified hypnotherapist. I am not a psychologist, psychiatrist, or medical doctor, and I do not diagnose mental health conditions or prescribe medication.
My services are not a substitute for medical, psychological, or psychiatric care. If additional support is needed, I may encourage you to seek guidance from an appropriate healthcare professional.
Confidentiality
All information shared in sessions is treated with respect and confidentiality and is handled in accordance with professional ethical guidelines.
There are some legal limits to confidentiality, including situations involving:
• risk of serious harm to yourself or another person
• suspected abuse or neglect of a child or vulnerable person
• lawful requests from courts or regulatory bodies
If confidentiality ever needed to be breached, this would be discussed with you wherever possible.
Client Responsibility
Counselling and personal development involve an active process. While sessions are designed to support positive change, outcomes cannot be guaranteed.
Clients are responsible for their own decisions, actions, and wellbeing both during and outside of sessions.
Consent
By booking and attending a session, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this agreement and consent to participate in the services offered.
You are always free to ask questions about the process or raise any concerns at any time.
A Respectful Space
My intention is to create a calm, respectful, and supportive environment where you feel safe to explore your experiences and reconnect with yourself.
This work is guided by care, professionalism, and respect for your autonomy.
